I know I’ve been rubbing it in everyone’s faces recently, but let’s take a look at the performance of a few companies stock prices over the last year. The blue line is Apple. Orange is Gateway. Red is Dell. Green is Microsoft. Black is HP.
Interesting.
Yeah, I am kicking myself a few thousand times for not buying stock in Apple when I moved out here…. Or at the release at the Ipod…Or at the release of OS X…..As Homer Simpson so aptly puts it DOH.

This is the grad. student / statistician (and not the Apple freak) in me but shouldn’t those percentages be compared to actual values. Percentages are cool and all that but a 200% percent gain on $10 isn’t as meaningful as a 1% gain on 10 billion or whatever.

Sorry I couldn’t help it 🙂
Nah! The point is that in the world of tech, Apple is rising while their competition sits mostly stagnant. I think the graph shows that pretty well.
I think I’m going to have to sit down with my accountant uncle later in the spring and chat over investment stuff with him, as I might actually have money *gasp* to do so. Wow.
