Farecast

I found a really useful airline fare finder called Farecast a few weeks ago, and apparently they’ve just added support for San Jose fares to their site. They actually show you graphs of the price airlines have charged for your ticket over time in the past. Really impressive. Plus, they’re Web 2.0 (e.g. the “beta” on their logo, heavy use of gradated color, and RSS feeds advertised prominently 😉

It’s amazing to see how much airlines rip me off displayed in a neat little graph.

    My training compells me to point out that they follow at least one rule of “how to lie with graphs” in that they don’t start the money axis at $0. It creates a false sense of scale and a lack of zero point reference.
