{"id":716,"date":"2013-07-11T03:51:02","date_gmt":"2013-07-11T01:51:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.joshlewis.org\/eddie\/?p=716"},"modified":"2013-07-11T04:01:43","modified_gmt":"2013-07-11T02:01:43","slug":"love-lives","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.joshlewis.org\/eddie\/2013\/07\/love-lives\/","title":{"rendered":"Love lives"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Love lives far longer than the death of the girl.<br \/>\nThe memory in the cells you took, you gave, stay<br \/>\nstained, but moving in your body,<br \/>\na homeless part of yourself that wanders in your veins,<br \/>\nlike an epileptic cat that spins and recovers on your floor<br \/>\nfull of piss and drool, a vulnerable,<br \/>\ndeadly seraph that&#8217;s forgotten its god.<br \/>\nYes, she lives but she doesn&#8217;t remember you.<br \/>\nYou can only watch as she floats by, lips unconsciously<br \/>\nmouthing your name and caressing the flower petals<br \/>\nyou&#8217;ve thrown her that pass through her fingers.<br \/>\nFollow her and you find the nettle too thick,<br \/>\nturn into thorns and take your blood.<br \/>\nBut this blood dripping from your legs,<br \/>\nyour arms is where she lives.<br \/>\nEggs that hatch and feed from the inside,<br \/>\ngrow, mate, and release more eggs<br \/>\nuntil you are so bloated with love<br \/>\nyou can&#8217;t keep yourself from birthing<br \/>\na song, poem, dance, blog post.<br \/>\nMaybe you shave your head or find a lover in a bar,<br \/>\nmaybe you throw stones,<br \/>\nto distract yourself from the killing-contractions.<br \/>\nBut she lives in you, love, still,<br \/>\nthen out.
