To recap, I won a Freeto Boat CD, but didn't have a Freeto Boat CD in my possession. But, Marc Aune told me that the radio station did have one. Think, think, think...
So, I called in a request to the radio station, even thought the current show was "Heavy Hits with Harris". Harris was a little surprised to get a call, and even more surprised to get a request for 'anything by Freeto Boat', but he played a track anyway. Then my roommate called (winning a WBCS mug in the process) with another request for 'anything by Freeto Boat'. Harris said that he was out of time, but he would ask the next DJs to play it. And they did. Then I called in to the new DJs and requested Freeto Boat again. And they played it. Over the course of three hours, we managed to get seven Freeto Boat tracks played. The DJs got really excited about the new hit band that seemed to be so popular, and I got to hear about half of my CD. Cool! Also, the music turned out to be pretty good stuff.
(Special side note: in addition to my roommate winning a mug, Chris Herbst called in to request a Freeto Boat song and won a steak dinner. Wow.)
Is this the end of Nate's adventures in the radio? We shall have to see.
