Skate or Die

Skate or Die!Last night my youth group did a game called “Do Ducks Have Lips”, wherein all the youth leaders who participated dressed up in disguises and walked around a busy mall. The kids then tried to find the leaders. They knew they had found a leader when they asked them, “Do ducks have lips?” and the person responded, “No, do snakes have hips?” Then the leader would initial a card the kids were carrying and the kids would move on.

This was my disguise. I also had super-sag pants. It was awesome. I just needed a wallet chain.

Dying?

A tombstoneI just noticed an article by Michael S. Malone for ABC News which I found to be incredibly interesting. In this article, Mr. Malone first shows you how he determines when a company may be on their way to the grave, and gives you some excellent examples of previous predictions he has made.

Then he makes a prediction that will really shock you. Read this one all the way through. It’s worth it. It’s no guarantee, of course, but the possibility is certainly there.

I guess now’s not a good time to mention that Apple’s stock is at an all-time high.

Christian Finance

I got a spam email today with the subject, “Refinance your home the Christian Way.” Well, I was thinking about making a deal with Lucifer (you know, the Prince of Darkness) wherein I would sacrifice one unblemished human infant each month in exchange for a fixed 3.97% APR mortgage rate, but now that I’ve heard about this Christian mortgage…

Roses Are #FF0000

Steph in her new tshirtI got Steph a cool shirt for Valentines day that I thought you’d like to see. It has wonderful geeky appeal, and Steph called it “a perfect combination” of her and me. I think that means she likes it! No, this isn’t all I got her.

To me, “All your base” will never die.

Mac OS X 10.3.8

It’s Mac OS X 10.3.8, and I helped!

A couple days ago, Apple released the 8th major OS update to Panther, and I just saw this great report about it on MacFixIt, a site I’ve always generally disliked due to their obsessive paranoia, and the fact that I don’t think it’s “news” when a guy in Kentucky has an unreproducible Kernel Panic. The good news comes at the bold text Positive reports, and in case you don’t feel like scrolling, here’s the gist:

Lest readers think that we’ve only heard bad things about 10.3.8, we should point out that we’ve received many, many positive reports — possibly more than with any recent OS X Update.
